Black Deserts Interview with developer Pearl Abyss

MMO Culture recently got the chance to interview one of the developers with Pearl Abyss about their upcoming free to play MMORPG Black Deserts. I had reached out to the team a few months back and never got a reply, which is apparently exactly what happened with MMO Culture. But seeing as they did such a great job with the interview I thought i'd let you all know about it and have you click over to them if you were interested in hearing about the game.

Game Freak's Soliti Horse Dashes Out With An Exciting First Trailer

Game Freaks Soliti Horse Dashes Out With An Exciting First Trailer

Teasing the silhouette of a mysterious creature along with the words, “That popular game that is played around the world, will be reborn in a surprising collaboration!” Pokémon developer Game Freak had the hearts of fans racing in anticipation. Then they announced the game as Soliti Horse, a 3DS eShop game that combines Solitaire and horse racing. Here’s a look at the game’s first trailer:

'

'

The moment you start a race in Soliti Horse, you’ll see a game of Solitaire appear on the bottom screen. By performing well in the Solitaire Phase, it’ll grant a boost to your horse, allowing you to gallop your way around others. Should you perform poorly, it backfires and will result in problems in your horse’s performance.

The Control Phase will have you play the role of the jockey, where you’ll be prompted to guide the horse with lines, and using the riding crop to help out on the final spurt.

Soliti Horse also offers different parts aside from racing, such as the ranch area that allows you to take care and breed different horses.

Soliti Horse is currently available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop for 500 yen.

Final Fantasy XIV's PS3 To PS4 Account Transfer Is Free, But You Lose The PS3 Version

Final Fantasy XIVs PS3 To PS4 Account Transfer Is Free, But You Lose The PS3 VersionSquare Enix said players who purchase the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be able to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version without any additional costs. Speaking with Famitsu, producer/director Naoki Yoshida elaborated on the transfer, which is actually a transfer of login rights.

'

Yoshida said to eliminate any upgrade costs, players will lose the rights to play the PlayStation 3 version if they upgrade to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for PlayStation 4. Once you do the transfer to PS4 you will not be able to login to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PS3. Yoshida further clarified that even if your PS4 is in your living room with FFXIV and your PS3 is in your bedroom you won't be able to play FFXIV on your PS3 because the login rights are bound to the PS4 version. If you want to play on multiple devices with the same account you will need to buy another copy similar to how you need the PC version and console version to play on both platforms.

'

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn for PlayStation 4 will be in full HD, 1920 x 1080p resolution. You will be able to play the game with a keyboard and mouse. You can also use the touch panel on the top of the DualShock 4 as a mouse. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will support remote play and Yoshida was candid about the experience on Vita. He said it would be tough to play since the text in the chat windows would be small and the Vita doesn't have enough buttons. He's going to see if he can utilize the rear touch panel as a possible solution.

'

Yoshida also said he thinks he should be able to show the PlayStation 4 version around the end of the year and it should be indistinguishable from the PC version.

Nintendo Makes Sharing Animal Crossing 3DS Screens On Twitter And Tumblr Easier

Nintendo Makes Sharing Animal Crossing 3DS Screens On Twitter And Tumblr Easier Nintendo is now offering an easy way to share Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Tomodachi Collection: New Life screenshots from the Nintendo 3DS via social network services like Twitter and Tumblr in Japan. This is done using something called the Nintendo 3DS Screenshot Tool.

'

The Nintendo 3DS Screenshot Tool isn’t really a separate app of its own. It’s actually a web service located at https://i.nintendo.net, and can only be accessed via the Nintendo 3DS browser. Here’s how it works:

'

Nintendo Makes Sharing Animal Crossing 3DS Screens On Twitter And Tumblr Easier

'

You begin by tapping the Internet icon on the 3DS Home menu. This opens up the 3DS browser, from which you can navigate to the https://i.nintendo.net website. Once there, you’ll be given the option to log into Twitter or Tumblr. After you log in, you’ll be able to select an image from the Nintendo 3DS Camera App—which is where all 3DS images are accessed—and add comments and hashtags to it. Once you’re done, you’ll be able to post it directly to your Twitter or Tumblr account.

'

Nintendo’s new website isn’t the only way to share 3DS screenshots via Twitter. You can also do it by accessing Twitpic or other sites from the 3DS browser, but Nintendo’s new solution is certainly the most simple and quickest' provided you use it with Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Tomodachi Collection. Thus far, those are the only two games supported for some odd reason, despite the fact that there are other 3DS games that let you take in-game screenshots as well.

'

So far, this service is only available in Japan, but we wouldn’t be surprised in the least to see Nintendo release it in other regions as well in the near future, considering that they mention the #AnimalCrossing English hashtag on its website.

'

Update: We tried to test this feature using a Japan region 3DS and a screenshot from Style Savvy: Trendsetters. The service doesn't work this way and appears to be limited to the two games, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Tomodachi Collection: New Life thus far.
